Following the signing of a three year endorsement deal with the Triple Olympic medalist as its ambassador for the WATA brand in 2011, Wisynco has steadily committed support to the efforts of the foundation by sharing the profits of the product Blake represents to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth.

Francois Chalifour, Director of Marketing at Wisynco  says “We support Yohan’s philanthropic efforts which aid underprivileged youth to become model citizens. WATA has always participated in initiatives that are geared at the development of our nation. This partnership is another avenue through which we can achieve this. With every purchase of WATA, proceeds go to the YB Afraid Foundation which supports Mount Olivet Boys’ Home currently housing over 30 boys until the age of 18.”

The foundation was formed by Yohan Blake in 2011 with the aim of developing programmes to address the educational needs, physical and mental health and social needs of underprivileged young males, with initial focus on fostered boys. The foundation also facilitates training in character building and leadership development and programs that discourage drug and alcohol addictions.

The funds from this venture will go toward projects for the care, development and rehabilitation of youth in need. Currently, the organization has undertaken a project to repair the water supply infrastructure at the Mount Olivet Boys Home in Manchester at a cost of JA$3.2 million.

“It is important to me to help in any way I can.  I am very happy to partner with a company like Wisynco through their brand “Wata” to achieve this.  Wisynco is a great Jamaican company that shares my ideals and is committed to building and shaping the country for the better.  I would encourage everyone to buy bottles of “Wata” that have my image on it because a part of the proceeds will go to my foundation.” says Yohan Blake.

The foundation has undertaken a number of projects and seeks partnership with entities that share it’s goals and objectives. Wisynco continues to encourage customers to purchase ‘WATA’ in support of the YB Afraid Foundation. The contributions will assist the team to improve the lives of the young men and the other educational charities the foundation supports.

The YB Afraid Foundation is led by an experienced team of professionals. Yohan Blake, Founder and Director, is supported by his manager Timothy Spencer, psychologist Melissa McIntosh and Coach Glen Mills.

Wisynco is one of the largest beverage companies in Jamaica. Its support of the YB Afraid Foundation speaks to its own mandate to add value to the lives of the underserved in Jamaica and positively impact the Jamaica environment and community.
