Sagicor rewards outstanding Advisors for 2013 achievements

Sagicor Life Jamaica highlighted over 30 Insurance Advisors for outstanding sales results within the first and second quarter of 2013 at its annual 'High Flyers Luncheon' on Tuesday, October 29 held at the Terra Nova Hotel.

With over 15 billion dollars injected in Jamaica's economy in 2012, Sagicor has attributed some of their agents' successes this year to an increase in public awareness about the company's Critical Illness Plan. Customers have access to insurance for living benefits and no longer only when someone in their family passes.

First time awardees of the Sagicor High Flyers Club for the first and second quarters of 2013 are Denton Atkins, Carl Ewart, Karen Marajah, David Reid and Sharon Smith-Williams. They were each awarded a gold pin or "Wings" in recognition of their achievement while both recurring and new members were awarded a monetary incentive.

Mark Chisholm, Executive Vice President Individual Life Division at Sagicor Life Jamaica said "The High Fylers' Club started around 2008. It was built around the concept of recognising our top performers on a quarterly basis; and in a way validates their success by the gold pin which they receive."

Sagicor Life Jamaica Insurance Advisor and 'High Flyer' Romalee Wright (r) chats with Dr Anna Perkins after Perkins delivered the key note address at Sagicor's annual High Flyers' Luncheon on October 30 at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel in Kingston. The function was held in honour of over 30 Advisors for outstanding sales results within the first and second quarter of 2013.

While the successes of the advisors were commended, key note speaker, Dr. Anna Perkins Senior Programme Officer - Quality Assurance Unit of the Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies - UWI Regional Headquarters, reiterated the importance of upholding good ethics when attaining success. "Insurance Agents are involved in a very key part of people's lives. They have to be honest and forthright as they are helping to prepare people for death and critical illnesses while alive."

Dr. Perkins went on to state "I've gotten very good feedback on what Sagicor is doing. I don't think the modern day would function well without insurance. Now that we understand about a market economy and how to hedge our bets in terms of risk, we are not subsistent people anymore; so insurance is a key part of how we live in contemporary times and it must continue."

To sustain their status as a member of the Club, Advisors are required to meet a sales target of over two million dollars each quarter which no less than 50 new cases.

Advisors who have been a part of the High Flyers' Club since inception are Albert Lyon, Waldemar Bramwell and Loeri Robinson.
