We decided to try a new platform for Sigma Run to open an avenue for Jamaicans across the world to lend assistance to these three causes," says Ingrid Card, Vice President of group marketing at Sagicor.

This year the Run will also incorporate a special element, inviting patrons of the Sigma Run to purchase 'I Run For...' balloons, in honour of persons affected by cancer and in memory of those who have lost their battle with the disease. Runners, walkers and wheel chair participants are being invited to honour those who are impacted by the disease with their purchase of this special helium balloon, outfitted with a special name tag for placement of the name of their loved one. At the beginning of the race, these special 'I Run For...' balloons will be ceremoniously released.
Persons who want to purchase an "I Run For..." balloon are asked to contact the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run Secretariat based at the Company's Head Office in Kingston. The Secretariat can be reached at email SGJSigmaSecretariat@sagicor.
In its 18-year history, the Sigma Run has inspired individuals and groups to sponsor and make donations in addition to registering for the run to further accumulate funds for its charities.
To date, approximately $166 million has been raised for a number of child health-related facilities. Funds raised are used to purchase well-needed equipment and services for the long-term maintenance and strengthening of these institutions.
